| AIR |
The main international
airport serving this region of France is Toulouse, with British Airways, Air France and
others offering services from around the UK.
However, for the best prices, and often a
closer destination, we suggest shopping around the low cost carriers who fly into
the smaller regional airports such as Carcassonne, Rodez, Perpignan,
Bordeaux, Bergerac, Limoges and several others. These are all no frills services, booked on the
internet, where prices vary according to demand. The true bargains, like £15 each way
(inc. all fees), are
usually only found during the Low season or on short term offers.

SEA |
Most people choose
a short crossing from Dover to Calais, Boulogne or Dunkirk, then use the newly
completed motorway system to get down to the SW quickly and easily. The lowest
prices are usually found on the traditional ferries, but competition
is hotting up,
so it pays to shop around and book early.
Alternatively, Brittany Ferries offer
longer
sailings from Plymouth, Poole, Portsmouth and Cork.
Whilst you can probably sort yourself out a
good deal directly with the operators, we have also included a link to Ferry Savers who
specialise in obtaining discounted tickets.

| TUNNEL |
Eurotunnel operate La Shuttle as an
alternative to the ferries. Drive on in Folkestone, and 35 minutes later, drive off in
Calais. The service runs 24 hours a day, and obviously is unaffected by the weather.
Nothing much to see or do on the journey, but it is the quickest way to cross the channel
with a car. Prices are usually higher than ferries, but most tickets allow you the freedom
to catch any train. |
